The minimum requirements to start the process of becoming a volunteer/Officer with NLCC Cataraqui are:
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Must be a Canadian citizen
- Must provide a clean CPIC with VSS screening
If you meet all the above mentioned requirements, the first step would be to come in and set up a time to meet with the Commanding Officer. The Commanding Officer and yourself will discuss your skills, what made you interested in volunteering, and where you feel you could fit in and help out the best. After the meeting with the CO is complete you will be given an application form to fill out, and asked to return it with a CPIC + VSS screening as soon as possible.
Your application will then be forward on to the Kingston Branch of the Navy League of Canada. They will look over your application, check references and call to set up a time for a formal interview. Once the interview is done, and everything checks out fine, your paperwork will be forward on to our Provincial and National bodies for their approvals.
After National approves your application, you will be send your Volunteer ID card, which means that you have been successfully screened and cleared to volunteer with the Cadets. This entire process can take up to 6 weeks in some situations.
If you are interested in getting the process started please come in Monday night to meet with the CO, or send an email to: email@example.com
