Get Involved

Are you interested in getting involved in the Navy League?  Volunteering is one of the most important things that we can do to help provide the future leaders of tomorrow the nurturing and guidance they need to reach their full potential.

There are many ways you can help out.  You don't need to be in the military or have any previous Cadet or sailing experience.  Everyone has their own unique set of skills and I am sure that we can find a way for everyone who is willing to put their skills to use and make a difference.

Some areas that we are looking for volunteers are:
  • Instructor
  • Event Planning
  • Fundraising Assistance
  • Supply Assistant
  • Drill Instructors
  • and much more..
  • Administration
  • Divisional Officers
  • Branch Board Members
  • Sports Coordinator
  • Band Instructor

Volunteer Requirements

The minimum requirements to start the process of becoming a volunteer/Officer with NLCC Cataraqui are:
  • Must be over 18 years of age.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen
  • Must provide a clean CPIC with VSS screening
If you meet all the above mentioned requirements, the first step would be to come in and set up a time to meet with the Commanding Officer.  The Commanding Officer and yourself will discuss your skills, what made you interested in volunteering, and where you feel you could fit in and help out the best.  After the meeting with the CO is complete you will be given an application form to fill out, and asked to return it with a CPIC + VSS screening as soon as possible.

Your application will then be forward on to the Kingston Branch of the Navy League of Canada.  They will look over your application, check references and call to set up a time for a formal interview.  Once the interview is done, and everything checks out fine, your paperwork will be forward on to our Provincial and National bodies for their approvals.

After National approves your application, you will be send your Volunteer ID card, which means that you have been successfully screened and cleared to volunteer with the Cadets.  This entire process can take up to 6 weeks in some situations.

If you are interested in getting the process started please come in Monday night to meet with the CO, or send an email to: co@nlcccataraqui.ca
