About NLCC Cataraqui

NLCC Cataraqui is a Navy League Cadet Corps for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 13.  Cadets are encouraged to become active, responsible members of their communities. They learn valuable life and work skills like teamwork, leadership, and citizenship. Cadets also reap the personal benefits of increased self-confidence and physical fitness, learning how to take initiative, and how to make decisions. Cadets make valuable contributions to Canadian society on a daily basis in terms of environmental, citizenship and community activities. Our program is designed to educate and train Canadian youth in respect, self-discipline, and citizenship within a naval structure.

We meet every Monday evening (excluding public holidays), and occasionally on weekends for special activities or trips.

Activities include:

  • Boating, sailing, and swimming
  • Competition Teams
  • Camping
  • Sports
  • First Aid
  • Band
  • Range
  • Parades and ceremonies
  • Trips, outings, and camp

Cadets are encouraged to take a chance and try many different things, in a place where teamwork and respect are very important. Cadets that do really well can earn awards, leadership positions and promotions.

Navy League of Canada - Kingston Branch

Each Navy League Cadet Corps is sponsored by a Branch.  The Branch provides support for the Corps and is involved with fundraising, providing facilities and promoting the Corps’ activities.

The Kingston Branch meets the first Tuesday of each month at HMCS CATARAQUI to discuss the status of the Corps, plan upcoming activities, and discuss ways to help promote the Corps and to get them involved in the community.

Anyone is welcome to attend a Branch Meeting.  If you would like to learn more about the Kingston Branch, then please visit their website at:
